MALAHI 2022 White Vayots Dzor Armenia
MALAHI was the ancient name of the indigenous Armenian grape varietal Areni Noir.
Blend: 40% Voskehat, 40% Aligote, 20% Areni
Origin and terroir: This wine is a blend of several terroirs.
- Indigenous Areni and Voskehat are from Aghavnadzor vineyards, Vayots Dzor region where the soil is volcanic and limestone at an altitude of 1300-1400 meters (approximately 4500 feet).
- Aligote from Ararat valley where the soil is volcanic and clay at an altitude 1000-1100 meters (approximately 3600 feet).
Yield: limited to 60-80 cwt/ha
Vinification: Varieties were fermented separately in barrels and in stainless steel tanks. Whole bunch subtle press was used for Areni Noire.
Alcohol content: 14%
