Gevorkian Winery ANAIS 2011 Reserve Ice Wine Armenia
Gevorkian Winery ANAIS 2011 Reserve Ice Wine – Armenia’s First Ice Wine Masterpiece
Limited Edition | 200ml Bottle | Voskehat Ice Wine Aged in Armenian Oak
Wine Description & Tasting Notes:
ANAIS 2011 Reserve Ice Wine by Gevorkian Winery is a rare, ultra-premium Armenian ice wine crafted from frozen Voskehat grapes—one of Armenia’s oldest and most noble indigenous white varietals. Named after Anais, the ancient Armenian goddess of love and fertility, this golden elixir is the first ice wine ever produced in Armenia, and a tribute to both tradition and innovation in Armenian winemaking.
Sourced from the high-altitude vineyards of Vayots Dzor, the Voskehat grapes are naturally frozen on the vine and hand-harvested at an astonishing -11°C (12°F). After gently pressing the crystallized berries, only a small yield of intensely concentrated juice is extracted and fermented at 15ºC, then aged for 12 months in barrels made from century-old Armenian oak, enhancing complexity and structure.
Tasting Profile:
- Color: Gleaming golden amber
- Aroma: Aromatic and exotic, with luscious notes of honeyed apricot, dried pineapple, candied citrus peel, and a hint of white flowers
- Palate: Rich and velvety on the palate, showcasing layers of caramelized stone fruits, baked quince, and ripe tropical fruit with beautifully integrated sweetness. The finish is long, elegant, and tinged with a signature note of Armenian apricot
- Alcohol: 12%
- Volume: 200ml
- Fermentation Temp: 15ºC
- Serving Temp: Best served chilled at 12ºC
Food Pairing:
Pair ANAIS Ice Wine with delicate desserts, such as crème brûlée, baked pears, almond tart, or aged cheeses like Roquefort and Gorgonzola. It's also a show-stopping sip on its own as a meditative after-dinner treat.
