KARAS 2017 Reserve Blend Ararat Valley Armenia
Origin - Ararat Valley, Armenia
Soil - Volcanic in origin, lightly eroded clay formed by basalt, high levels of carbonate and limestone, volcanic tuff and alluvial stones.
Harvest Date - Mid September 2015. Hand harvest.
Vinification - Grapes are harvested in boxes of 20Kg. They are selected on double selection tables. Cold maceration is carried out for 5 days. Fermentation is realized at 26-28 degrees centigrade for 20 days. Malolactic fermentation is realized in tanks. After fermentation the wine is placed in Armenian and French oak barrels for 14 months.
Grape varieties: Blend of 35% Syrah, 35% Malbec, 20% Cabernet Franc, 10% Tannat
